What is the future of Islam and Muslims in the west, in 50 years; considering the current debates on Islam?

I think opposition to Islam is growing dangerously in the US, and the brunt will have to be bore by common muslims who are not even dogmatic in their attitudes, which is quite disturbing. What do you think ?
