In Texas, is the first class postage subject to sales tax on items ordered on line?

I just ordered new checks on line from I don't know where and the Texas sales tax was charged on the first class postage ($5.94) that I selected as the shipping method. I don't think this is proper. I don't think Texas sales tax is chargeable on US Mail Postage. Agreed, it's not much money, but why should they get it if it is not taxable?
